General Labor/Machine Operators/Material Handlers

The company will continue to grow through the next year and we continue to seek employees for all shifts who have demonstrated reliability through their good work history, attendance records and who have a desire to train into new positions. Starting Pay is $13.00 to $15.00 depending on position plus Shift Pay:

$2.50/hr 2nd Shift Differential

$3.50/hr Wkend Shift Differential

  • 1st Shift runs 4:45am to 3:15pm Monday – Friday
  • 2nd Shift runs 3:15pm to 1:45am Monday – Friday
  • Wkend Shift runs 4:30am to 5:00pm Fri, Sat, Sun - Work 36 hours get paid for 40

BOM Specialist

Primary responsibilities for this position will be to set up a materials list and create machine routings that directs production through the process of building that product. Other daily tasks include creating new part numbers for purchased parts, updating existing parts per change requests, and maintaining updated drawing revisions for existing parts. The BOM works closely with production to resolve issues related to the materials list and/or routings. 

This is a full time, benefit eligible position with a starting wage of $15.50 per hour.  Education and experience in related field is preferred but willing to train the right candidate.

Minimum requirements are HS Diploma or GED; Must have at least two (2) years’ office assistant experience and have highly competent computer skills including Microsoft Office experience; Experience in a Manufacturing setting preferred; Experience in reading engineering drawings and working with an engineering/design team is preferred; Must have good verbal and written communication skills; Must have good problem solving and analytical skills and must be detailed oriented; Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and must be able to develop excellent working relationships with all production team members; Working knowledge of ERP/MRP manufacturing systems is preferred, but not required

Engineering Design Manager

Position Summary: The Engineering Design Manager is responsible for developing, directing and overseeing the activities of the design, drafting and engineering team including Bill of Materials, providing leadership and executing component and assembly mechanical design and analysis activities as well as the drafting/modeling/analysis needed for manufacturing company products. This position will report to the Director of SG & A.

Responsibilities:
• Supervise team of engineers, drafters, designers and Bill of Material specialists to ensure the team is operating at the highest high level of performance. Manage operations of the team, assigning workload making best use of the team members’ capacity and skillsets.
• Provide phased estimates of all engineering work in process, manage all projects and resolve any problems.
• Review specifications for new product designs as well as customer requested product customizations; Check technical accuracy of work by reviewing applications and drawings using best practice design/engineering rules for component dimensioning and tolerancing against applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate, evaluates and determines appropriate tools, standards and processes for the design, drafting and engineering functions.
• Ensure exceptional quality of all projects, both internal and external
• Establish objectives, set team goals and priorities, and review staff based on established standards for output and quality.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
• Solid leadership and coaching skills
• Sound working knowledge of mechanical product measurement and testing technologies
• Strong SolidWorks Auto Cad, 3D CAD and SolidWorks
• Extensive hands-on ERP systems experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Prior experience effectively leading change and implementing improvement plans
• Proven ability to manage multiple competing demands under high peak workloads and deadline pressures
• Solid analytical skills; able to resolve complex technical problems with innovative solutions

Education and Experience Requirements: 
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; prefer candidates with a Professional Engineering license (PE).
• Minimum of 10 years engineering experience with 5 years managing engineers and technical staff; preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership, deep practical engineering knowledge and a proven track record for timely project delivery.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, SolidWork and Inventor software. Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Must be able to handle a wide work variety and work in a fast-paced environment.

Purchasing Manager

Position Summary: The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the formulation, implementation, administration and management of procedures and activities aimed at obtaining all required materials at optimal price, delivery, quality and service to ensure all necessary materials are available for on-time production of company goods to meet customer orders.

Responsibilities:
• Performing buying functions as required for key items to maintain an uninterrupted flow of materials to meet production needs;
• Development and implementation of purchasing strategies. 
• Analysis/negotiations of material quotations and selection of qualified suppliers, both domestic and imported; Cost reduction and other development/training programs.
• Management of the supplier base; Managing all procurement activities, both domestic and imported, to ensure that good purchasing practices are maintained;
• Develop and maintain necessary records of purchase, price, supplier/vendor, specifications and catalog files;
• Conduct market and material studies; research and evaluate benefits of contract or open-market purchases, and/or benefits of out-sourcing;
• Supervise Purchasing Department staff and manage the company’s day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure that all purchasing staff are meeting their personal performance standards. This position reports to the Director of Operations & Safety.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:
• Establish standard operating procedures for purchasing; monitor the effectiveness of procedures; revise and improve purchasing processes as needed to improve vendor relationships and lower the cost of doing business.
• Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
• Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
• Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking; Develop KPIs to measure vendor’s performance and process improvement.
• Assess, manage and mitigate risks.
• Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
• Comprehensive knowledge of purchasing function concepts and supplier commodity processes and practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people in a team environment.

Outside Sales Representative - Industrial Material Handling

Position Summary: Well established Wisconsin based manufacturer of industrial/commercial work surfaces, lockers, caseworks and education furniture is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to service our current and potential customers for our Industrial/Commercial Work Surfaces division (Industrial Material Handling). This is a full time, benefit eligible position working out of our Thorp, WI facility with approximately 50% travel nationwide. This position will report to the company president.

Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads. Conduct ongoing research to locate potential prospects and identify industry trends by using resources available through the internet, trade publications, trade organizations, associations or other reliable means of identifying prospective customers.
• Communicate with current and potential customers to identify and understand their product or service need, then identify and suggest products and services to meet those needs. Maintain communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services and enhancements that may be of interest.
• Schedule and conduct on-site and remote sales presentations to existing and prospective clients as well as attending tradeshows.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolve any issues that may arise post-sale.
• Effectively interface with members of internal teams to communicate the scope of details related to any potential and current projects.
• Maintain detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business and any customer or vendor relationship problems.
• Provide periodic territory sales forecasts.

Designer/Programmer

Position Summary: To complete configuration of standard, special and custom products.  This position will complete Solid Works design work as needed, in a timely manner.  Analyzes, plans, and completes projects to detailed specifications. This position will report to the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities: 
• 
Configure standard and special units in Solid Works.
• Write CNC Programs for products using a Routing Software/Program.
• Has demonstrated capability to perform multiple assignments under team leadership.
• Perform project management responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Provide guidance to team members on technical problems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Must be willing to work overtime during busy season.
• Uses Drafting standards to complete Solid Works/Auto Cad drawings.
• Uses Furniture Design Standards.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Outstanding attention to detail.

Education and Experience Requirements:
• 
Associate degree in Mechanical Design with at least 2 years’ work experience; Design experience preferred. Or any combination of education and experience to be equivalent.
• Working knowledge of software technologies used with the engineering area, including Solidworks. Experience in Microsoft Office.
• Proven track record leading successful projects.
• Must have excellent judgment and leadership skills.
• Requires well-developed communication skills and the ability to maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with Sales, Customer Service, Production and customers.
